Movement guidance
Preparation
Stagger your feet front to back with some side-to-side space between them.
Entry and alignment
Ground your back foot at a slight outward angle and bend your front knee. Lift your chest and reach both arms overhead.
Hold and breathe
Do not force your pelvis or knees to face forward just to keep the back foot grounded. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.
Exit and next movement
Lower your arms and straighten your front knee. Check your balance, then step your back foot forward to stand.
Easier variations and preparation
Shorten your stance and place your hands on your hips.
