Movement guidance

  1. Preparation

In a standing forward fold, place your hands on your shins or blocks.

  2. Entry and alignment

Reach your chest forward and lengthen your torso toward a position parallel to the floor. Keep your neck in line with your spine.

  3. Hold and breathe

Press your hands lightly into your shins, lengthen your chest forward and look toward the floor. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.

  4. Exit and next movement

Soften your knees and fold again, or place your hands on your hips and rise.

Easier variations and preparation

Use higher blocks to find a height that lets your torso lengthen.
