Hand-to-Foot Pose

Padahastasana

Fold forward and slide your hands under your feet with palms facing up and toes near your wrists. Bend your knees as needed to reduce pressure on your wrists.

pada (foot) + hasta (hand) → Hand-to-Foot Pose.

Movement guidance

  1. Preparation

With feet hip width apart, bend your knees and fold forward.

  2. Entry and alignment

Slide your hands palm-up under the fronts of your feet. Straighten your legs only as far as your wrists remain comfortable.

  3. Hold and breathe

Regulate the pressure on your hands without forcing your wrists into a bend. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.

  4. Exit and next movement

Bend your knees to reduce pressure and slide your hands out. Place your hands on your shins or hips and rise slowly.

Easier variations and preparation

Support your hands on blocks instead of placing them under your feet.
