Crocodile Pose

Makarasana

Rest face down with the legs apart and forehead supported on folded hands or forearms.

Makara means crocodile or aquatic creature.

Movement guidance

  1. Preparation

Lie face down with the legs comfortably apart.

  2. Entry and alignment

Fold the arms to support the forehead and relax the shoulders and abdomen. Adjust leg spacing and support if the lower back feels uncomfortable.

  3. Hold and breathe

Set the forehead support so the neck does not bend to one side. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.

  4. Exit and next movement

Place the hands beside the chest, roll sideways, or press the floor to rise slowly.

Easier variations and preparation

Place a thin support beneath the chest or forehead.

Difficulty refers to the photographed form. Individual experience may differ.
