Movement guidance
Preparation
Check the knees and ankles in seated Hero and place sufficiently high support behind you.
Entry and alignment
Use the hands and forearms to lower onto the support. Do not recline if the knees feel uncomfortable.
Hold and breathe
Check knee and ankle comfort before lowering the torso. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.
Exit and next movement
Use the hands and forearms to sit up first, lift the hips, then carefully extend the legs forward.
Easier variations and preparation
Lean on a high bolster or remain in seated Hero.
This advanced variation requires support and range of motion. Check preparation and exit with a teacher when first learning.
