Movement guidance
Preparation
Learn stable Forearm Stand support and landing with a teacher first.
Understanding the movement
This inverted backbend maintains forearm balance as the knees bend and feet move toward the head.
Hold and breathe
Do not lose shoulder support or bend only the lower back to make the feet touch the head. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.
Exit and next movement
Learn how to release the backbend, return toward Forearm Stand, and lower the feet with a teacher.
Easier variations and preparation
Choose Dolphin preparation without bringing the legs overhead.
This advanced variation requires support and range of motion. Check preparation and exit with a teacher when first learning.
Difficulty refers to the photographed form. Individual experience may differ.
