Noose Pose

Pasasana

Twist from a knees-together squat and wrap the arms around the knees for an optional bind.

Pasha means noose or cord.

Choose heel support and binding range individually.

Movement guidance

  1. Preparation

Prepare a comfortable squat with support beneath the heels.

  2. Entry and alignment

Rotate the chest sideways and wrap an arm around the legs to connect behind the back, using a strap if needed.

  3. Hold and breathe

Keep the heels supported and respect torso rotation without forcing the bind. Keep breathing comfortably without holding your breath.

  4. Exit and next movement

Release the hands first, turn forward, and use hand support to sit comfortably.

Easier variations and preparation

Support the heels and omit the bind.

This advanced variation requires support and range of motion. Check preparation and exit with a teacher when first learning.

Difficulty refers to the photographed form. Individual experience may differ.
